Case Study: Sri Sathya Sai Divyasmrti — Online Museum Entry & Management System
An immersive digital booking, real-time device monitoring, and visitor scheduling system engineered for the state-of-the-art spiritual museum in Whitefield, Bangalore.
Project Overview
Located at the historic Brindavan ashram in Kadugodi, Whitefield, Bangalore, Sri Sathya Sai Divyasmrti is an immersive digital museum that shares the life, teachings, and spiritual legacy of Sri Sathya Sai Baba. Incorporating multi-dimensional projections, interactive touch sensors, and automated audio guides, the physical venue demanded a modern, low-overhead digital system to match.
To bridge the gap between digital visitor management and live venue dynamics, I designed and developed a zero-maintenance web booking portal and an interactive administrative dashboard. Built on a serverless database backend, the platform handles end-to-end visitor registration, ticket scheduling, and live tracking of interactive multimedia hardware. Zero-Maintenance: Designed using a fully serverless, highly-available cloud backbone to avoid operational overhead.
Real-Time Synchronization: Instant data pipelines keeping booking desks and hardware monitors synced dynamically.
Calm and Fluid Design: High-legibility elements that evoke peace and reflection, making registration straightforward for all age groups.
Technical Skills & Execution
To achieve a zero-overhead, enterprise-grade deployment for the museum, I executed the following technical strategies:
Dynamic Scheduling Engines
Creating responsive booking systems with strict capacity thresholds, custom date selectors, and group ticket processing.
Device & Exhibition Monitors
Designing live dashboard displays to supervise active visitor hardware units (e.g., audio headsets, media stations) directly from the admin app.
Serverless Architecture
Leveraging Firebase authentication, cloud storage, Firestore, and cloud functions to bypass traditional, high-maintenance server hosting.
Real-time DB Integration
Syncing booking desks, entry scanners, and back-end dashboards using low-latency document-based push models.
Granular Portal Security
Configuring Firestore security rules and token structures to protect visitor personal files and administrative actions.
Elegant Kiosk UI/UX
Designing lightweight, fast, modern layouts with high-visibility colors matching the peaceful ambience of the museum.
The Challenge
Managing high-volume spiritual exhibitions in Bangalore involves balancing state-of-the-art experiences with seamless, highly accessible logistics.
The Solution
1. Multi-Step Smart Calendar Booking
Designed an intuitive, visually stunning reservation flow. Visitors can choose their preferred date, view remaining seats for open slots in real-time, register their family/groups, and instantly receive confirmation without waiting.
2. "Device & People Monitor" Admin App
Engineered a comprehensive administrative console that acts as a cockpit for venue controllers:
- Real-Time Status Grid: Shows visual representations of the audio guide devices, tracking battery, pairing state, and allocations dynamically.
- Live Statistics: Tracks total visitor check-ins, remaining capacity counts, and daily scheduling performance indexes.
3. Serverless Firebase Infrastructure
Used a serverless database design incorporating Firebase Auth, Firestore, Cloud Storage, and Realtime Database. This eliminated the need for active server management, handled high spikes in festival booking requests with automatic scaling, and dropped active hosting upkeep costs to zero.
